  1. Two questions here:

    1. What is the normal size of movies on a DVD? Reason I ask is because, if I want to backup my movies and it takes two 4.7GB disc's to do it, then I'm not going to bother.

    2. Is there a difference between the Pioneer A06 and the Pioneer 106BK? I want a black burner, which is why I want to make sure the 106BK IS the A06? Also, if this is the case, then going back to my first question; will it take two 4.7GB disc's to burn 1 dvd?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Did some searching and I got my question #1 answered. But now I have another question about determing how many layers the DVD has. Is there anyway to determine the number of layers without having to load it up in a program? Do most websites list the DVD specifications including layers?

  2. Taken from the DVD Rip section:

But how do I check if the source DVD-Video is a dual layer DVD-9 or a single layer DVD-5?
DVD-9 discs are usually gold layered and DVD-5 discs silver layered but it is not always so. Most longer films(longer than 2 hours) are mainly on DVD-9. But to be sure use DVD Decrypter, read this DVD-5 or DVD-9? guide.

  3. Ok, thanks. I also found out that places like Amazon.com will sometimes list single or dual layers for movies under the details section. Now what about the Pioneer A06 and 106BK?
