Hi - first off - apologies if this is not the correct thread to post in but is definitley seems a "noob" type question.

I've searched the site and can't find any guide to printing CD/DVD Labels ( not covers - they work fine ).

I've scanned a few CD/DVD labels and whenever I import them into my label printing prigram - epson easy CD Print - the printed label is always smaller than the actual label surpace - by about 2-3 mm all round the outside of the disk.

What are the dimensions I need to resize my images to to make them fit ? - and what's the easiest way to do this ?

    Thanks,

    Jim

I know what to do to fix this, but I'm not sure how well I can describe it. What you have to do is take the scan and crop it so that you have the edges of the photo right at the edges of the CD/DVD you scanned. It will look something like a circle exactly inside a box where the circle goes right to all 4 sides of the box. I use a program called HyperSnapX to do this cropping. I save the cropped photo and then it prints correctly.

You should check settings of your label printing software. They usualy allow to "overscan" print so it is larger than DVD by some amount. After printing all DVD surface is covered.

Thanks - the Epson Prog. doesn't seem to have much configurability - it does seem to allow you to specify "non-standard" sized DVD/CD sizes so perhaps that might work as a "reverse engineered" version of what you say if I set a custom "slightly smaller" DVD size.....

    Worth a try

I would go the other way. If you set smaller DVD size, than it may print even smaller picture. For lager size it will stretch it.

The easy way to deal with this is to use the drag handles on the image when it is loaded into Epson Print CD and size the image so that it fits. These drag handles look like little squares centered on the edges of the top, bottom and sides of the image on screen. Just click on one of the squares and drag it one way or the other while holding the mouse button down.
