    Hi all,
I am very new to this technology. Last week I bought the Pinnacle Studio DV Plus and started to learn step by step using this site. I made my first .MPEG (Trip.Mpeg) file using Studio DV Plus. When I open this file from Windows Media Player it worked fine and it is only 10 Mins movie. Then I decided to make my first VCD. So I downloaded the TMPEnc and followed the steps as it is mentioned in this site. I specified the Output file name as G:\Trip.Mpeg (Where the G:\ drive is my HP 9700i CD writer and I placed a CD-RW on it). After clicking the Start button it has taken long time to finish. It was processing frame by frame and finally it has completed. When I browse the CD, there was only one file called Trip.Mpeg. There are no Sub directories like other VCDs has. And when I placed this CD in to my DVD player it was not recognized. But still I can view through Windows Media Player. I dont know where I went wrong. Please help me.

You're burning it wrong. You have to use TMPGEnc to create the VCD (MPEG file) on your hard drive. Then use Nero (or any other VCD Authoring Program) to burn the VCD. Using it will also burn in the necessary VCD Data files as well.
