What kind of inputs does your monitor have?
What kind of outputs does your dvd player have?
You probably need a vga or dvi output on your dvd player to be able to view it on your computer monitor. If not your computer monitor has svideo, composite inputs then.
But doesn't your computer have any dvd reader/writer? then use it together with a software player... -
Hi, thanks. Yes, my computer does have a dvd writer/reader...but what software are we talking about? I do have the software that came with my pci tv tuner card..does that help. Let me clarify my original post..yes, I do want to view a dvd on my computer. but more for copying it, rather than view it. I did have an old ati usb tuner, but that was for win98se. can't get it to work in XP. Does Nero have such a software that would allow me to watch it and record it at the same time as Ati did back then? My monitor does have a s-vid in/out and vid in/out and a hdmi...port, but I do not think that would help me to record a dvd disc only to view it, possibly.

You copy dvds with dvdfab decrypter, dvd shrink, dvddecrypter, etc. No need to use a capturing device.
