look at the screen shot ...this is now on all my ripps?? Nevr been like this before ...did I hit a button somewhere?

Half of what part of the screen? You'll get more response if you actaully describe your problem. Is the half-screen visible on the actaul ripped VOB's? Is the half screen present only on your encoded output. Have you tried different players, etc. You get the idea.
