I've edited a rather simple, hour-long video from six .avi clips captured by my LeadTek TV tuner card. It's a VCD project, so I captured the .avi at 352 X 240. It plays fine in instant preview, but crashes about a minute into the show in high-quality preview. This after rendering for more than an hour! Does anyone have similar experience? What's the solution?
I understand there are two different kinds of .avi files, and VideoStudio has trouble handling one of them. I don't know which kind I have. How do I find out? When capturing, the following error message came up: Fail to use the codec: ". However, the captured video plays just fine. I chose to capture in .avi rather than mpeg 1 because I'm concerned there would be a generational degradation from editing.
