  1. I installed an All-In-Wonder Pro in my PC and my computer works fine. My
video>in signal, however, is all messed up:

It is a signal coming from a
video player. I've tried composite and s-video leads, a different video
player and video but the signal keeps coming through like this. (This is a
replacement, the last one stopped my pc from booting). I've tried different
software as well. One interesting thing is that on a little piece of
software like ASCAP, if I change the capture filter from PAL to SECAM - the
image has large green and purple strips on it. My only thought is that it
could be something to do with PAL, SECAM and NTSC. One person has suggested
that it's a "frequency sync" problem.

My specs: Windows XP and 98
    AMD Duron 800MHz
    256MB RAM
    40GB Harddrive
    Turtlebeach Montego 2.

It sounds like you may have tripped the macrovision circut.

Are you attempting to record from a store bought tape or from one u made (Based on the image, I conclude store bought)

If you bought the tape, it won't let you copy it. You will need a Macrovision remover to copy the tape into your computer.

You might be able to disable the macrovision detection, I read they did it w/ one ATI card, i don't have any more info on this.

  3. The signal doesn't improve with my home movies. What exactly could be triggered by the macrovision? Is the video sending the scrambled signal or is the ATI card?

macrovision is a copy protection that tells a chip not to record.

TV's dont' have it, try hooking 2 VCR's togather and copying a store tape

I think you ahve to return your card.
