I have a DivX file of an asian movie, and was looking to convert it to SVCD with SVCD/CVD removable subs with DVD2SVCD. The trouble is, the subs aren't off a DVD, they're from an .srt file. How would I go about doing this?

.srt is the format for Subrip.
Open the file in Subrip and convert it to .ssa. Use MaestroSBT to change the .ssa file to .sub format with bitmaps (.sub for submux and not Philips format). Use WinSubMux to multiplex the .sub and bitmaps to your mpeg stream. You can choose CVD style or SVCD style. People here say CVD style is more compatible.
Make sure that your standalone DVD player supports selectable subs for SVCD.
That's the short answer.Happy to be here. -
Thanks. Despite not being too newb-ish, I've never done any hardcore SVCDs or subs before, so I guess I've still got a lot to learn.
