  1. Gurus,
is it possible to convert a divx with ac3 audio to svcd with 5.1 channels in order to play the final file with a home dvd and heard the sound with an home theater system?

I read a lot in the forum but to be honest I didn't understand.

In case YES, can you point to to some guides?

    Many thanks.

  2. There is a way but I believe you have to convert the AC3 track to an MPEG multi channel stream. Thats not so much of a problem if you have software to do it but you also need an MPEG multi channel capeable DVD player and Surround reciever. SVCD does support 5.1 audio but not AC3. My DVD player supports the MPEG multi audio (Pioneer 525)

    Some info etc

    Hope this helps

  5. If you get the latest release from Hypercube you can load the DivX as an AVI and it will produce the MP2 5.1 audio track which you can Multiplex with the encoded movie later.
Or you can use VirtualDub To either extract the audio track (Ac3) or save as a wave renaming it to .ac3
