My previous thread was closed as I posted a link to a site that's not allowed here. But my question still stands..
I have files with 6 channel AC3 audio. I don't have 6 speakers or surround sound capability on my computer. What this means is that the background music comes out of the left side and all the dialog from the right side. Shouldn't the media player just downsample to 2 channels? I confirmed that this is happening in the same way on any media player and even my TV. I don't want to have to demux and remux each episode, but is there a way to do it in the settings in Media Player Classic? Right now I'm working around this by watching it in Mono, but I'd like to be able to hear stereo..
Any help would be appreciated.

it is downconverting. the video's audio is most likely screwed up. put the d/l'd vid into the trash.

Yeah, you are right. I forgot to update the thread. I realized that the files were not complete. Some of the other ones were and had no problem, so - corrupted audio. Oh well. Thanks anyway!
