    I'm trying to convert my TV Rips in VCD format to DVD so I can free up some space... only problem is that I don't know how to do it. I only need to convert the audio to 48k, no video (re)encoding.

    I used FFMPEG on the mpg file to make the 48k mp2 but it just says "starting" but doesn't actually encode it.

    Any other programs I can use to take my MPG file and just encode the audio... or use the demuxed file (m1a) and just reencode that.

    Try MoreMissingTools homepage.mac.com/rnc
    mp2 -> wav 48k
    wav -> mp2

    Are you using the .mp2 preset? (version 0.0.6j). Or use Ross' tools.
