  1. Converting PAL-DVD to NTSC-DVD
    Hello,
    I have a PAL DVD movie and i wish to convert it to NTSC DVD.
    i have a SONY DVD burner(DRU500A)
    any help with this would be appreciated.

  2. You would need to rip the DVD and re-encode the video again to NTSC.

    i tried that but still my DVD player couldn't play it.
    also it's supposed to be Region free (though the PAL DVD is from Europe)

    may be I am missing something here?!

  4. Well if you were able to rip the DVD, then your DVD-Rom drive was either region free, or the same region as the original DVD. Most aps like Smartripper will remove the regional code anyways. But when you burn the DVD, I seriously doubt your authoring ap put any regional code at all. So your probly using a region free DVD-R anyways.
