  1. hi,
i have used the guide on this site to try to convert a dvd-9 to a dvd-5, i am using dvd decrypter to de-crypt, dvd2one to encode and copy to dvd to burn.
i can decrypt the dvd fine, and it seems fine when i encode using dvd2one, but when i come to burn it says that the medium required is 8.3 gig or 7.2 gig but basically i cant get it onto a dvd+r.
somebody please help as i'm pulling my hair out here.
    thanks very much in advance.

  2. Are you sure you are directing your burning software to the new folder with the new vob files in it and not the old folder.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  3. hi, thanks for the reply.
yes i checked that i am using the right folder.
i mean is it definitely possible to squeeze down a 7gig dvd with all extras and burn it onto a dvd+r and play on my standalone dvd player??
i know it cant be too easy as eveyone will be doing it but i followed all the steps and dvd2one and instant copy just dont shrink the film enough!!
any help would be muchly appreciated.
    thanks.

  4. Have you tried just the movie?

If you want to do the whole disc, it can get very involved.

  5. Now im no expert when it comes to converting (not i didnt say copy !!) a dvd9 to dvd5 but it is quite simple. I assume you are using the newest version of DVD2One ! i had the same problem in that it wasnt compressing the files down to the 4.5g mark. The way i got around this is to user define the file sizes the DVD2One reduces the files too. I set the size to 4452 and this worked fine from me. Im sure you know, but if you are doing the whole dvd9 with all menus and extras the quality will be poor. Its watchable but thats about all...
