suggestions for cheap meadia. I had the best success with maxell DVD+R. But would like to go with something cheaper. I have heard rumor that some dvd media advertise 1X but support 2X. Success stories using cheap DVD's wanted please! Users of the sony external drive are of particular interest. Thanks

BestBuy has Memorex DVD-R and DVD+R as a 50 pack for $99 but I am not sure about the quality of them. You might want to do a little research

These are the cheap medias (Quality range - good => least)
AllMediaOutlet DVD-R
Lead Data DVD-R
- AllMediaOutlet & Lead Data DVD-R are in same level.
Princo DVD-R
Check out their comparability list http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/drivechart.html -
Sony DRU-500A(E) is older model, DRU-500ulx is this newer model so it works with your model plus compability to more media. good luck!
