  1. hi
i looked all over the place to try and find the answer to this problem before now and i have had no luck finding anybody else with the same problem i am having. well here it is: all 3 of these programs have given me the same or close to the same result in my completed vcd's, dvd copy plus, replicant, and eazy vcd all seem to cut 2 or 3 minutes of the movie out either at the end of disk 1 or the beginning of disk 2 do i have my setting wrong or is this the standard?

any help from anybody is very much apreciated

Given the limited information you have supplied, I would guess that the mpeg files you are trying to burn are too large to fit on the cdr. Or you are not encoding the entire movie.

How large are the files in bytes? If they are larger than 812,000 KB (as viewed from Windows Explorer), you may have to reencode with a slightly lower bitrate.

If you play the mpeg files in Windows Media player, is the 2 - 3 minutes missing? If so, then you are not encoding the entire movie.

What are you encoding with (TMPGEnc, DVDx, etc.)?

Please give more information if my assumptions/suggestions are incorrect.

i just ripped mr deeds using tmpgenc and i played it back in windows media player and it still has the 2 or 3 minutes missing. using windows explorer 1 file is 505,184,256 bytes and the 2'nd file is 506,232,832 bytes also i tried to redoo patch adams using dvdx and it was encoding at 1150 so i changed that to 1100 and it finnished encoding but when i went to look there were no mpeg files am i still setting something wrong?

  4. TMPGenc is the program that encodes to mpeg, and is unlickly to be the problem.

What programs did you use before TMPGenc, (EG Smartripper to rip the DVD, then DVD2AVI) or if you followed a guide on this site, which one.

  5. hi and thanks for the fast responses that you guys are giving me.
i used eazy vcd v-1.15a to do the r deeds dvd. if i a understanding you corectly you want to know what was used to rip the dvd before it was encoded with tmpgenc. well it apears to use several programs: 1' vstrip vo.8f_css. 2' dvd2avi v1.76 command line v.105 and 3' besweet v1.4 but i did use smart ripper to do the patch adams dvd

    thanks

  7. OK, when you encode with TMPGenc, do you let it cut the movie into 2 iles its self?
I havent heard of anyone having problems when TMPGenc does this, but just in case, do it manually.

open TMPGenc, and close the wizard (if it is open), then load your video and audio (im guessing a .d2v file and a .wav file), and load the apropriate template (NTSC or PAL). Then click setting, go to the advanced settings tab, and select 'source range'. A screen should pop up (you might need to double click) where you can set the start and end points to encode. Keep the sart point were it is (at the start!) and select the end point near the middle. Keep a note of what the end frame is.

Then encode, and start again, setting the start frame to a few seconds BEFORE where you set the end frame earlier, and the end fame at the end.

That should sort your problem, plus you get a little overlap for good measure.

Let me know how it works
