I am new to all this but have moved soom very old home cine film to VHS and now to my hard drive.

I'm using ArcSoft ShowBiz (as it came with my Sony DRU500a drive). I have put together a project which last about 60 mins. When I came to burn it it failed (low on resources - see spec below). I then tried to create a single MPEG2 on the hard drive - did about 50 Mins and then ShowBiz crashed.

I'm thinking the way to go is create 2 MPEG2 files of 30 mins and then join them. Does this seem reasonable ? How ? Should I then be able to take the resultant MPEG2 file and burd to DVD.

    Athlon 2400XP 512 MB Ram,
60 GB Hard drive - 55+ MB free
    Win XP Pro
    Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Motherboard

    Many thanks
