I've just started on my first video project which is to transfer a VHS tape to DVD. Using Adobe Premiere 6.0 I converted the video from my VCR to the computer using a Canopus ADVC-100. What I'm noticing now in Premiere is some sort of moving pixels at the bottom of the capture. What caused this? Do I have a setting wrong? The VCR plays fine on the TV and does not show any flicker at the bottom of the screen. In reading the help for Premiere I tried going to an option called flicker removal. This did not seem to help and only degraded the video a bit. I have no flicker in most of the image, only at the bottom. Any help would be appreciated. I am VERY new at this. Thanks.
Pam

This video information is on the original VHS tape but the resolution of the tv cuts off and doesn't display the full picture. This extra space at the top and bottom of the screen is where they store data like Closed Captioning and SAP. It shows up on the computer monitor because that will show the full resolution of the picture that the tv is designed to hide.
Just crop it out if you want or you can just leave it, as your tv won't display it on the DVD you make. -
Thank you! I'll probably wind up leaving it since I haven't figured out yet how to crop in Premiere.
At least I can make a trial DVD and see how it looks on the TV. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
