Video Editing problem with Final Cut and Flip Video! Help!

After importing, my video is giving me black flashes nearly every 20 frames. Does anybody know why that is?

What is flip video, first of all?
Is it:

1. Video imported through Flip4Mac, and thus actually Windows Movie Files?
2. Video imported from a Flip Camera, which is actually 3ivx encoded Mp4 video?
