Hey I am new here and this is my first post, hehe. A few months back I bought a pinnacle studio pctv rave card out of Dixons (in the uk), I was all happy and when I got home I installed the hardware and the software but I was very unhappy when I found that there was only a picture and no sound, so I looked in the box and I found a wire, so I said that this must be for the speakers, to get sound in your video. But I have 4 small speakers with 1 decoder and since the wire what I got with the pctv card is like only about 20cm, I cannot use it. Can I buy a longer wire from anywhere?

This cable goes from your PCTV rave's audio out to your soundcards line-in. That is the reason the cable is only 20 cm's, there is no need for it to be longer. You don't have to connect your speakers any differently then they are allready now (line-out/speaker-out of your soundcard)

I believe that wire goes from the capture card to the line-in on your sound card I checked the manual and there's nothing in there about it (wierd that they'd forget that). But it goes from the audio-out of the capture card to your line-in of your sound card.

Check your recording properties in your volume control. Check to see the line-in is selected as input and level is not zero.
For sound while watching check the volume control and add line in if not selected and add it and unmute it.
