What Height & Width should I use for menu Background ?

Ive just used Ulead Moive Factory 2 in an attempt to create my first DVD. All is fine except for the custom background I have applied which is too large to fit on the screen

Can anyone suggest what height and width dimensions I should use for my custom backgrounds? The last one I used was 768 x 576 which was too big.

try 720 x 480

Here is some options for you:

Type PAL NTSC
VCD 704x576 704x480
SVCD 960x1152 960x960
DVD 960x1152 960x960

The easiest way to do it is double resolution that your MPEGS are so if the res. of your video's is 352x240 make the background 704x480, thats the way i create custom bg's and it works fine for me!
