Bad Frames in AVI

Hey everyone,

I have some AVI files that seem to have some bad frames within them because when they are either being watched or encoded, at certain points, Quicktime automatically shuts off and any processes are stopped immediately. Is it possible to take out these bad frames or to get around them so that they can be encoded within Quicktime to a Toast Ready VCD? I have 10.2, Quicktime Pro, and my AVI files are validated using the DIVX Validator. Any help would be appreciated.

You'd be better off converting your AVI with ffmpegX. It will encode faster and will create a significantly higher quality VCD. Download the latest version here: http://homepage.mac.com/major4.

I'm having the same problem as Wolfwood87. Have not seen were there was ever a good solution posted. The only difference is that i convert to .mov first with DIVX Doctor II. I have tried using ffmpeg, but all I get is a mpeg file were the video freezes at the same point that Quicktime crashes. Even the .m1v file is truncated. Mediapipes also crashes at approximately the same spot. I am able to watch the entire movie via Quicktime player or vlc without even a shutter but just unable to completely convert to a vcd. Anyone know how to fix the avi?
