  1. I am going to purchase a CD RW to install in my computer. The goal is to burn VCD and SVCD from videos shot from my miniDV cam. I have Studio DV movie editing software. My DVD player is a Sony that is supposed to play all formats.
Question: will any CD RW do the jod or are there certain specs that I need to look for. There is always one on sale at the local stores but I don't want to get the wrong one.

    Thanks

  3. appreciate the response but will a standard CD RW do the job? I am inclined to get a cheaper one because I may upgrade the whole system soon and go with a DVD RW.
so the basic question is will all CD RW work for me?

  7. Any CD-RW will be fine. Just make sure you get one with buffer-underrun protection (pretty common, actually) so that the discs dont get ruined if your computer cant handle the burning speed...or something like that. And make sure it has a big enough buffer so it doesnt kill your drive...
