  2. What program/s are you using to convert, what are the settings in those programs, are you converting to MPEG1 or MPEG2? etc. Also note that the quaility of the DivX source makes a HUGE difference.

  4. it's probably from your source file,... tons of divx files that i've seen have an annoying pink or green tint to it...

It's the Angelpotion codec. Get rid of it. Install either the DivX3.11 codec or the Kristal 4.3.3 codec.

I've been converting several scenes from DV to MPEG-2 (film) using TMPEG (with motion search set to highest quality & soften block noise enabled). I converted several short clips with great quality & no problems. Then I installed a DivX4 codec & Kristal Studio Pack Codecs to my computer. Now whenever I convert in TMPEG from DV to SVCD, a pink overlay on the screen appears every few screens so it flashes on playback.

Anyone have an idea as to which codec is causing the problem? Also, how to I uninstall a DivX codec. (I dodn't see them listed in the multimedia section of the control panel).

I negelected to mention that I am using:
    *Win2000
*Dell PIII 700MHz with 125MB ram

I found the following info on how to unistall the Angelpotion codec on the web:

To remove AngelPotion under Windows NT/2000:
    Open regedit, drop down to
    HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32, and delete or rename
    these keys:
    Key name Value
    VIDC.AP41 APmpg4v1.dll
    VIDC.DIV3 APmpg4v1.dll
    VIDC.DIV4 APmpg4v1.dll

Howvever, I found no HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE in my registry but only CURRENT_USER or LOCAL_NACHINE. However, after searching both of these directories manually & my whole registry (with find...) I found no keys or values that are listed above. Does this mean I don't have the angel potion codec & the pink/purple screen is being caused ny something else. How do I check to see if the angelpotion codec is installed for sure. If it isn't, how do I uninstall all of the DivX codecs so I CAN JUST GET RID OF THESE ANNOYING PINK SCREENS ???
