I told them about my intention on raising the issue here so maybe they can figure it out from information in this thread for Unshackle.
Can't say for sure, your Unshackle is out of date, or at least not the current that is.

I downloaded from the extension directly in Firefox. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/export-cookies-txt/

I tested getting the cookies with ExpressVPN and also www.smartdnsproxy.com to see which would work. Both do. So that lead me back to the "export cookies" working in Firefox for me with No other extension or addons. Exporting all sites or just 7plus, I got same results.

  2. Thank you ehurdler. I may give it a try with Twinvine Envied and see how that goes. I think Unshackle is terrific but they way Angela has organized Twinvine for me is easy to update so I am using it more and more and Unshackle less. Perhaps I will have the same issue with Envied and I think I will test that shortly.

I just did some downloading from CBC and it worked terrific with the cookie.

  3. Seven failed in exactly the same fashion with Envied. I will probably try with Ozivine next. I do have other Addons in Firefox such as WVP2 and the Video Downloadhelper. I disabled my U Block Origin when before I got the cookie as I thought that might be the problem. Thank once again ehurdler.

For what it's worth I had the same sort of issues with Seven cookies earlier this week testing in Ozivine.

I am using this extension https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/get-cookiestxt-clean/ahmnmhfbokciafffnknlekllgcnafnie and use the Export As button. You gotta make sure it has the gig_bootstrap item in it, otherwise it will never work.

I find the best result to get a fresh cookie for me is:

    1. log out of 7plus
    2. clear browser cache/cookies
    3. log in to 7plus
    4. export cookie

I've changed the authentication mode for 7Plus in Ozivine so it only needs the cookie once. If you use the service on a reasonably regular basis it will use the cached token values and not need a new cookie.

  5. Thank you billybanana. I will give this a try. Thank you for providing this information. It is kind of comforting also knowing that this issue has arose for other people as well, and a way to deal with it has been found.

I have no addons in the Chrome Browser. Though come to think of it I do have ESET Nod 32 Browser Protection that is there to make it safer when I am doing Online Banking and such. I could temporarily disable that just in case.

I tried and it failed again both in Unshackle and Envied. Perhaps I need to sign up with a different email address. I will try with Ozivine tomorrow and see how that goes. Thank you once again.

billybanana. Oddly enough I was using ozivine that helped me troubleshoot unshackle the exact same way you described above! lol

I am glad it works for you. For some reason the Seven Cookie doesn't work for me. The CBC cookie works fine.

  10. I tried to create an API for WOWOW On Demand, but in my environment, I can only create one that supports 720p. Could you please tell me how to create one that supports 1080p?

API is usually the term applied to the receiver of requests, which takes a request and returns data, usually. You are producing a program or a script to access an API. So to say you've created an API doesn't make much sense.

The API you access will probably have a number of end-points, (URLs to access the API), designed for the web, for Android or for iOS.

A Content Delivery Network (owner of the API) will not always provide all resolutions on all end-points.
Your job is to be sure 1080p is available and if so find which end-point it is on and re-write your script

Yes, as phased says, you are not creating an API, its completely the opposite. The API already exists on the Wowow server. You need to create a script to communicate with their API.

You need to install the Wowow app on a tv (or android device) and sniff the traffic with a 'mitm' app. You will not get the info you need thru DevTools.

Yes, or you spoof it. The requests you make via a browser will tell the receiving API details about your system. The browser will then be offered the best resolution available for that platform, i.e web; phone; TV.. (No point offering 2106p to a Windows 7 machine.) But if you are writing a script, then you control the information sent to the API. In the part that tells the remote machine about your platform, you can say its a 4K-TV or an Android TV then the API might return a higher resolution than a web-browser on a laptop gets. And the part that tells which platform? The request headers

I found this list as an example for Japanese network offerings. No WOWOW, unfortunately. It shows which platforms gets which resolutions and with which encryption/decryption method.

Thank you for the information. The WOWOW On Demand I’m referring to may be somewhat unusual, because regardless of the environment, the browser is limited to 720p playback.

I tried to obtain the necessary information from an Android emulator and a Fire TV Stick, but the apps would not launch when I routed the traffic through a proxy.

Even if I were to spoof the browser as a 4K TV or an Android TV, I would still need to be able to actually play the video in that environment first, right?

Not necessarily, you might download 4K on a Win7 machine but store it on a USB or local/remote NAS and playback on a 4K TV.

On android you'd play back through the App. A TV too won't be playing back through the browser!

Yes, exactly. You need to use counter measures and the first is to root your device. I'm not going to hold your hand while you step through this. Ask ChatGPT!!

Sorry, I’m not very good at explaining what I mean. To obtain the information for 1080p, I need to actually play the video on a device such as an Android TV or a 4K TV that supports 1080p, right? In other words, there is no way to obtain the 1080p script using only a browser, is that correct?

  19. Best Buy Canada is finally got some additional VPN options. I have been using Eset Nod 32 Ultimate which has Anti-Virus and Windscribe VPN. I see an option for NordVPN Standard and Surfshark has some options available. I will probably stick with Eset for my Anti-Virus as I have so much trust and have used for many years but when it comes up to be renewed I can downgrade to something more basic and cheaper and have a stand a lone VPN either Surfshark or NordVPN to configure for proxy to add me more options for Unshackle and Twinvine.

This is what I have to chose from so some advice on which one to get NordVPN or Surfshark is appreciated:

  22. Is anyone else getting this on Stabby's ALL4 service for any of the shows?

Request for Android endpoint returned <Response [403]>

It proceeds to download but not at the highest bitrate available which I'm guessing is only available from the Android endpoint. Have ALL4 changed something?
    Quote Quote
  23. 403 is http request refused. So the endpoint is correct but is refusing you; usually because of a bad vpn, ig.

Channel4 haven't changed anything for a very long time.

PS Stabby has archived his unshackle services repo so they won't be updated anymore anyway. Time for you to learn a little python debugging. If you think there's something wrong with the code.
