When I was trying to encode a DVD to my digital collections.
I realized there was DotCrawl and Rainbow that's very noticeable (and currently ruining the quality by a bunch)

When I tried to remove it using a popular filter, DotKill, I'm not experienced with it, it's a little difficult, not to mention if I use DotKillZ and DotKillT, It shows a lot of flickering a random interlaced lines.
So that's why I'm posting here to see if anyone can remove the DotCrawl and rainbow, and send me a code to fix it for myself, Thanks!

  2. LUTDeCrawl(ythresh=15, cthresh=15) + santiag(type="sangnom") and LumaSharpening seems to work fine here.

    Cu Selur

Ps.: since it's soft telecined I used DGDecNV for decoding.

    Great choice!

  4. Looks like some artifacts in the eyes of the boy around 5-6 seconds in. Not sure which part of Selur's script are causing those.

  5. Wild guess, probably LUTDeCrawl, tweaking of the threshold adding something like MLDegrain/TemporalDegrain/... should help

This looks really good for dotkilling, but I do see some artifacts around the boy's eye, as well with some left over rainbow on this object.
If this can be fixed, thank you.

  7. The old ChackMate() does well with the dot crawl without much other damage. A mild KNLMeansCL() cleans up what's left.

    Code:
    Mpeg2Source("dca.d2v", CPU2="ooooxx", Info=3)
    CheckMate(thr=10, max=30, tthr2=0)
    KNLMeansCL(a=1, d=0, h=1.0)
This doesn't address the rainbow artifacts.

Like I wrote "MLDegrain/TemporalDegrain/... should help " (those artifacts are already in the source)
