this is happening to me a few weeks ago. never happened before.
all encoding settings are the same. For the record , it doesn't happen with every encoded video.
it happen with random video. for example , it happen on one video, then i re-encode again and the error gone.
i tried several method to solve this issue. but it not working.

may be it GPU issue ?

    here is my pc spec,

    i7 11700K
    Ram 32 GB
    PSU - 650 Watt
    GPU - RTX 4070
    Board - B560M Gaming HD

i am using all latest drivers of nvidia , Board BIOS .
    also updated to latest nvenc.
i also tried with several encode software .

    i need solution, please

  2. a few thoughts,...

okay, if you are not using studio drivers, but gamig drivers, try the studio drivers.

nvenc x265 Encode error with GPU
x265 does not support GPU encoding.
NVEnc does support H.265 encoding and decoding.
I suspect you are using NVEncC while encoding to H.265.

    also updated to latest nvenc.
Not sure what that means. Are you using the latest NVEncC encoder?
i also tried with several encode software .
Too vague to really be helpful.

Have you tried different playback methods (software/hardware) ?
Since you seem to own a "RTX 4080" and a "RTX 4070", does it make a difference which card is used?

Is your system cpu/gpu/ram overclocked or inadequately cooled?
Are you sure the source is okay? Can it be played back using software and hardware decoding without issues?
Does the decoding in the software you use work properly? (most software allows previewing, what it plans to feed to the encoder)
Have you disabled any antivirus software and similar during encoding/decoding?

  3. Hi , Thanks for your reply.
    i own rtx 4070 . not 4080. ( sorry about that. typing error )
i am using NVEncC while encoding to H.265.
I am Pretty sure that source is 100% Ok.
i using staxrip ( In Preview , everything is just fine ). it happend after encoding.
error video is ok in some player. but there is serious issue with encode ( i uploaded error video on youtube and facebook for test purpose. it doesn't went well )
all of them ( cpu/gpu/ram ) are not overclocked. But my cpu is i7 11700K ( unlocked ).
i don't use any antivirus software. all of them are disabled.

For the record , not every encode is happening this error.
example , same source file , same encode settings , got error.
And then i re-encode it again with same source file , same encode settings , error didn't happen.

    sorry for my bad english.

Sounds like heat and/or memory issues.

    You might want to:
    a. check the temperatures during encoding.
    b. run some memtests
    c. try not the latest but a bit older driver for your graphic card and/or studio drivers.

  5. Hi , thanks for your advice. I will do some memtest right. Pc Temp is hot. Almost 90 to 95°C even with
    Small room with full AC.

One thing i forgot to mention, Nvenc Encode for H.264 ,
The error never happen. It only happen on H.265 with nvenc.

If this is still the case, try older drivers.

That seems a lot, given that the encoding should basically not tax the cpu,...

Corruption can occur with some settings where there is a massively long gop. Is the gop reasonable ?
