Hi,
I just bought a LG G2 55" OLED TV.
When playing my ripped movies, "MKV" it has small pixelation on them.
I havn't had this problem with any other tv.
It's doing it on Plex, but also when playing from usb-stick.
All content from apps like Netflix, Disney+, plays perfect.
And my MKV's play perfect on my pc, old tv's, apple tv, and so on.
It's really weird.
I rip with MakeMkv, convert with Handbrake, "x264 720p mkv ac3"
I have a picture of the problem.
Hope you guys can help.

to me it looks like there may be too many reference frames, and get rid of the variable frame rate, some equipment can't handle it.

Okay, so constant framerate and less referance frames. I'll try that. Thanks.
It just sucks having to re-rip and convert my entire collection -
You can probably use "slower" but you'll have to override the number of reference frames (using the extra options box).
-
Are you playing them on the TV's embedded media player? As mentioned, there is a good chance it isn't capable enough to accommodate your previously ok encoding settings.
How do those same clips play when played on a PC sending hdmi to the tv?

Don't understand why people wish to use HW decoders but not using BD compatibility flag.
HW decoders are usually limited to BD spec so it should be activated, also HW decoders usually support HP@L4.1 so it may be beneficial for quality to allow encoder to use higher max bitrate (unless this is old HW decoder). -
