  1. Hello, I wonder how I can increase Video Decode to speed up encoding?
I use QSVEnc for encode, which can reach 200fps with that setting. (--avhw --cqp 19:20:22 --profile high --level 5.2 --output-thread 1)
Anyone can help me? Thanks for your reply

I see you are using the Intel HD Graphics 530
Perhaps using a GPU with more VRAM can help.

You don't have to buy a GPU to test.
    Use Google Colab resources

I haven't been able to try Colab because my Google Drive got corrupted.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for your idea, but I can't run GPU with Wine. I'm trying to test with mono, but I don't hope for that. Any solution?

  6. Try a counter-intuitive thing - switch to sw-decoder instead of hw-assisted one.
The overhead of sending data between GPU and CPU often too big and turns supposed speed advantage into a disadvantage.

  7. I didn't use wine or mono to encode, I used NVEncC directly because it's version for ubuntu which supports Colab. But it can't use more GPU VRAM, 15GB but it only uses 1.1GB, any solution to use more GPU for faster encoding?

  8. Follow transcode guidelines https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Hardware/QuickSync if you not using any filter requiring CPU then this is fastest path.
