This forum doesn't appear to have a section for discussing TV and monitor hardware.
I need to update my TV which is over 10 years old.
I am not planning to use any "smart tv" features - I just want a HDMI video input I can drive from my existing system.
I need a forum where I can ask if specific TVs can operate like a monitor and start up with the HDMI input, or do they force you to navigate through the UI every time?
Can anyone recommend a TV-focused forum?

Samsung TV's seem to make you jump through hoops before you can do anything different. Lots of remote buttons to click. I have set mine to HDMI input so that I can get the Dish receiver signal, but every so often it forgets (or I pushed the wrong remote button) and you have to go through their UI again to reset to HDMI input. I suspect this is true for all new TV's.
