  1. I can convert to mpeg, and use nero to burn on CD-RWs,
but when i watch a film on my DVD, sometimes the film breaks up and sticks...

Any idea why...I have also use slower speeds to burn.. Is is because i keep using RWs and wiping out the film..

    Thanks in advance..

OH...also, where is the guide to squash larger films on a VCD using Tmpeg on this site..

    thanks once again

Try an other cdr or cdrw manufactorer. Maybee your dvd player is not able to read properly from your cdrw yet.

If not got to a friend and try in his dvd player. If there is the same it must be something else.
If not your player isnīt able to play those files.

  3. I don't know if this will help, but a bit of investigation may find the problem. It depends what tools you are using to convert and burn.

When you have made the mpeg file, have a look at it on your computer first to see if there are any problems during the encoding. If there are, then either have a look at your settings in the encoder, or use a different one. Experimenting with the field order might help - try encoding a small file and see what happens.

If this does not solve your problem, and the encoded mpeg seems OK on your computer, then you have to look at the way you burn your disks.

In Nero it is important that the Write Disk At Once option is selected, and (depending on your computer system) that you leave Nero to do it's work without using any other applications (and disable the screensaver). I had a problem with burning discs when the screensaver used to start.

You should also try to use CD-R and see if you get the same problem.

Make sure that your files are in the correct mpeg format, and correct resolution for the format you are burning to.

Hope this helps - good luck!
