That isn't the problem. Do you have to registerthe program.

Unless you have some plugin(s) or did some intermediate conversion THAT YOU AREN'T TELLING US ABOUT, that is the problem.

The only mpeg2 video that is supported by Resolve is in an mts (transport stream) container.
Dvd is mpeg2 (or mpeg1) in a vob container, or if re-wrapped - in an mpg ps (program stream) container, or if demuxed - as raw m2v stream, and none of those are supported by Resolve as it normally comes.

As the only mpeg2 variants it accepts are XDCam in an mxf container -- why do you believe lack of compatability is not the problem?

Oh yeah, I skipped xdcam. Wasn't going to go there, as most consumers don't know what that is but then neither would they need to worry about it. Same with all the MXF stuff.

Why then do's it say it supports it. If it dos'nt support it how then are you then able to use this program or is it only for professionals

  8. Where are you seeing that DVD is supported? That's not on BlackMagic's site.
    Please provide a link.

It supports "DV”, as in the 90s I-frame tape capture consumer video format,
not “DVD”, the GOP-based MPEG2 authored consumer disc distribution format.

    BIG difference.
