This cybercard is great. Just a couple of issues: I use VirtualDub and when closing the program after a capture it says: "Cannot run multiple instances of a DLL under Win32". I also happens with all other capture programs installed. Also, YUY2 captures come with a mesh of scrambled colors over the the whole pic. I'm running Win98 in a PII-450 192mbs. Aside of these issues, if I don't use YUY2, everything is OK. This didn't happen with a Dazzle DPM (USB). Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Ooops! Sorry for the incovenience. YUY2 comes vertically flipped. YUV422 is changed to Y41P and comes out with the colored mesh over the whole pic. Thanks again for any help.

Hello Timelock,
What you will need to do is run a standard RCA cable from the "video out" jack of your vcr to one of the RCA jacks on the capture card.
Next you will need to run the audio cables from your VCR to the "Line In" jack on your Sound Card. The capture card you have does not have its own audio section, you have to capture the sound using your sound card.
More than likely your sound card takes a 1/8" stereo mini plug. You will need a cable that has two rca jacks on one end to plug in to the left and right audio jacks on your vcr and a 1/8" stereo mini plug on the other end to plug into your sound card. You should be able to pick one up at the local Radio Shack. If you tell them you are wanting to plug the audio of your VCR into your sound card's line in jack they should be able to go find the cable for you.

how's the quality of the camera? compared to say, a vhs-c camcorder, or a webcam, or basically anything you could reference it to. i heard the other cheaper camera they used to sell with it had a very yellowish picture with bad color, and needed tons of light to even make out the picture, and i was thinking about buying one of these so i'll take any opinions out there. i know the quality won't be great, but is it worth the extra $10?

i see thank you...i have to go back out to radioshack again
i accidently bought a jack that turns 2 vca inputs to one, not one for the sound card. at compgeeks.com it says "rca composite output can plug into a vcr, tv (w/video input, capture card, etc. but i dont see a rca output on the card only the 2 rca inputs. so uhm..how do you output? btw thanks dman!

also in the manual it says you can watch and capture live tv...but there isnt a tv in feature. is my card just bootleg and missing alot of crap or are they boasting stuff they dont have or is there a way.

actually, i think the best jack to get from RS might be the solid plug that goes from 1/8" to 2 RCA female (one red, one white). then you won't need barrel connectors (male-male joiners) and you can use all your standard cables. http://www.allelectronics.com has lots of cheap, long RCA cables too.
you can use TV. you just need an external tuner or just use the VCR as a tuner or a TV's output (most don't have those).
and no, there's no output FROM the cybermail card. it's a typo, it's supposed to be the input you connect to the VCR.
as for whoever had the "cannot load device" etc problems, go into safe mode and remove the card's drivers (uninstall) and delete all versions of it from device manager. then install again to a new directory. that fixed it for me.
