Hi everyone!
I just joined a translation community where VSS is used to translate and syncronize subtitols.
I can properly see videos by vlc and Media Player Classic.
I already installed K-Lite but, while audio and subtitles show no problem, video is not shown at all.
Can you please help me?
Thanks a lot!
P.S.: i also tried installing LAV filters but nothing has changed![]()

Hi
Too many things installed. Let's go for parts:
1) Uninstall everything.
2) Reinstall VSS only.
3) Does VSS work totally well and do its job? -
I use Subtitle Edit for this but perhaps start by analyzing the video source with MediaInfo (View -> Text) and post the result.
Next drop it onto GraphEdit and give the result.
PS I have nu problem seeing video in VSS. You have used F4 to turn video on? -

P.S.: VSS is the ItaSa version.
I don't remember if I use this https://sourceforge.net/projects/visualsubsync/files/VisualSubSync/VisualSubSync%201.0.1/ or the one here at Videohelp but they both should work. -
OK
1) You are sure that you do not have any other codecs pack installed on your system.
2) Now you install this version: "Download LAVFilters 0.68.1 (direct link)" This is the 32-bit version
https://www.videohelp.com/software/LAV-Filters
3) Test if VSS works now -

All right.
I had that problem with SubtitleWorkShop and the conflict was between the LAVFilters and the pack of native Windows codecs.
The solution was to follow exactly the instructions of this thread, explained by the user @nbarzgar:
https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/295805-Subtitle-Workshop-not-showing-mkv-files-during-preview
Remember, you are not uninstalling native Windows codecs. It's closing them up and it's giving LAVFilters even more credit for decoding multimedia.
If you are not satisfied, you can reverse the path and return to the previous setting.
I solved the problem.
Try yours -

@LauraPalmer
1) You on what Windows platform is 7/8/10, 64bit or 32bit?
2) When you installed VSS, in this window, Options: was marked as in the image?
If it fails to make it work, since the program uses codecs in 32bit environment, please go to the developer's web to get help:

@LauraPalmer
1) In C: \, in which folder was VSS installed, in Program Files?
2) In C: \, you have another folder called Program Files (x86)? -

I see Program Files (x86), in that folder are installed VSS and the pack of LavFilters?
Please uninstall VLC alsoLast edited by remanyao; 12th Nov 2016 at 07:58.

If the use of VSS isn't a requirement from your translation community you could try Subtitle Edit. It can do Google translate which may give you 1/3 acceptable subtitles.
If it's a requirement .. I don't know. -
@LauraPalmer@
I still can not understand how you can not install VSS.
I, who did not use it, installed it on my machine to check and everything was perfect.
Do not you have another machine (from a friend for example) to install VSS and know where the error is?
