You can try change the framerate/fps with virtualdub, open your avi, select Video->direct stream copy, Audio->direct stream copy and then Video->Frame Rate and try different values(like same fps as your first avi). Last File->Save As.
And if that fails post the details from your avi with mediainfo, open avi, choose view->text and copy everything. -

But can you change the fps and save in virtualdub? Ignore the warnings.

Try reconvert the audio, select Audio->Full processing mode in Virtualdub. -

What do you do . i'm amateur -
Open avi.
Select Video->Direct Stream Copy.
Select Audio->Full Processing mode.
Select Video->Frame rate. Set it to 25fps for exapmle.
File->Save avi.
