Hello,
I have a movie which I want to share with others but it contains some abusive words.
So, I want to mute sound for only 1 or 2 second(where there is a abusive word) in a 2 hour movie.
There are only 2 occasions where there is an occurrence of an abusive word.
So how can I do that and which software(s) do I need?

Indeed.
We routinely have get-togethers at my house for movie night. Someone once bought a movie to my house for movie night, some one heard about our next get-togeather which was a comedy movie night they invited themselves and insisted on bringing a what they called great movie we are all gonna love it they said. So on said movie night they present said movie to me "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" I was guite pleased it had been years since i had seen the movie and no of the other guest had seen the movie before. Unnown to me te movie had been edited for violence, profanity, nudity, obscene gestures, pretty much anything that could be remotely considered profane.
The movie made very little sense and our comedy movie night quickly turned into dumb movie night, our friend became agitated that we did find the movie at all interesting our amusing. He then blurted out he had edited the movie because it in his words it was "so nasty", and as much better without all that other junk in it. Most in the group took offense to this movie night then became a heated debated i won't get into details of the debate but I'm sure you get the jist. The debate reach it's climax when some said I've heard many times and don't care to repeat. Our friend ask for his movie called us few things just shot of devil worshipers and left. After he left we watched my copy of the movie, then proceeded to watch Stir Crazy, Silver Streak the group really loved the Pryor & Wilder paring.
It's been about a two years and he still doesn't speak to any of us. Now as we add new people to our group I do ask if they are easily offended because we watch movie in their original unedited form. People who are are usually invited to movies we know are not offensive, the group doesn't see many of those. I been trying to get a family friendly movie night together but not many of the regulars are up for it.
When you started editing movies for content where do you stop? Do you stop with what you think is offensive or what other people find offensive, I can tell you for the latter you will never be successful, i have met people who find the following very offensive; the word dang, any mention of sex, any reference to a woman's menstrual cycle, child death; these are just a few of many that most people would not find offensive.Last edited by dragonkeeper; 31st Oct 2011 at 09:24.
Murphy's law taught me everything I know. -
Also, people's efforts to *BLEEP* can go overboard and backfire on themselves and make something that was totally innocent become very naughty. Witness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-Wd-Q3F8KM.
The best choice when presented with material you don't like is to just pass on it.
Or, if you like it enough even with some "words", most others probably can handle it too...

There was a lovely little book called Mother Goose Rhymes Censored that blacked out key words turning simple stories smutty.....
Jack and Jill went up the hill to xxxxxx
Of course censoring anything nearly always has the opposite effect "hey what was that he said turn up the volume"SONY 75" Full array 200Hz LED TV, Yamaha A1070 amp, Zidoo UHD3000, BeyonWiz PVR V2 (Enigma2 clone), Chromecast, Windows 11 Professional, QNAP NAS TS851 -
That reminds me of the Brothers Grim, try reading the original stories (not the crap you parents may have read to you as kids), the are so much more interesting. They were heavily edited/cencored to be made suitable for children in many cases you you be left scratching your head wondering what was wrong with the original story.

The movie is not even slightly related to violence, profanity, nudity, obscene gestures, etc.
It is completely watchable right from children to old age people. It is just those two occasions that spoil it. -
Good thing you are not in Australia our free to air tv is full of 4 letter words day and night except for the C word (that's after 9pm) Nudity abounds full frontal and of course the entire Australian population of 22 million is running amok in a sexual frenzy! NOT. Fretting over a few abusive words only draws attention to their "naughtiness" BTW what are they? What's the movie?

The first word is the most popular, widespread and versatile word ever used in human history.
Even if people don't know English, they use this word.
Most of them will guess this right
Second word is prost***te.
There maybe one or two other occasions but i'll have to go through the movie again.
The movie is based on a series which concentrates on the current problems in the world, the cause of them and the solution to it.
There have been many movies on the above lines but these movies are controversial.
WARNING: There are many beliefs, myths and maybe some truths exposed. Whether to believe it or not, is left to you.
Remember the movies are highly controversial, so don't blame me.
The movie I want to edit is "Zeitgeist III - Moving Forward",
but I would recommend anyone interested to watch the second movie "Zeitgeist Addendum"

The fact is that many people learn bad words from the languages they don't know and then the language itself
So, it's the "f" word.
This word is the most versatile word coz we have attached so many meanings to it, by using it in almost all sentences possible... even though a dictionary will not reflect that. (Open to debate) -
The only time I ever edited a movie for content was the first new Transformers movie. I'm sure you can guess which scene I cut. It didn't fit into the movie, and my sister didn't want my young nephew to ask too many questions. It was actually an easy cut to make, and was completely invisible -- you don't even know anything is missing. I actually prefer this version. I don't know what Michael Bay's issue is with these awkward not-funny out-of-character situations. There's one in each movie, but the first movie was the worst.
And I don't generally care for editing.
The theatrical release of Dukes of Hazzard (new movie) was also much funnier than the uncut edition. There's sadly no widescreen theatrical edition released, only the fullscreen version. I plan to edit the two together, eventually, to create a mixed "Restored" edition. Still not decided if I want to leave theatrical as 4x3 inserts, or just crop so it all matches at 16x9. The clean jokes were far funnier than the vulgar ones.
There's so many "f" words that people could be offended by.
Fart? Flatulence?
Fubar?
Fugly?
Fatso? Fat ass?
Fatwa?
****? ******? Fuckup? Fuckface?
Fag? Fairy?
French?
Foreign? Foreigner?
