  1. Is it possible to adjust the sync in DVDSP, if so how?

I just ripped a DVD, grabbed the .M2V and the Eng .AC3 files dropped them in DVDSP, built the disc and burned it.
But the sync is off my like a millia sec late, I could live with it but it is just enough to bug me.

    Help please

not sure, but many of the time DVDSP is outta sync and doesnt show it right in the preview. it is outta sync in the preview u say, right? if ur confident u did everything right as far as framerates, etc. id just go ahead and burn it. sometimes on commercial dvds sync is off by a millisecond, many people dont notice, but people like us do! but anyways, i suppose after u build it u could use something to play it and make sure its in sync, like the apple dvd player or vlc, etc. i think those work? lol not sure cuz havent made a dvd in awhile. but sorry, i couldnt help u if it truly is outta sync, dont know of any sync fixing tools besides QT Mutator, sorry ...

  3. You can't adjust sync in DVDSP. It's simply not an option. My steps for getting perfect rips are: 1. Rip the DVD in 90 to 100 minute chunks using OSEx as a single VOB file. 2. Demux the VOB into m2v and .ac3 using bbdemux v1.2.2. 3. Import the streams into DVDSP. Sync is perfect every time.

Actually, you could build it, save it as a disk image, mount the image, and run DVD player to check it. Tolly is right; there is a good chance the sync is wrong only in the preview.

  5. I should have been more clear, it is out of sync in the preview and when I burn it, its not bad my wife can't tell but I notice. I will try extracting the whole VOB file instead of just the streams and extract the streams from the VOB with bbdemux v1.2.2.

    Thanks for the tips

I read somewhere else on this board that 0Sex corrupts ac3 files somewhat, which may be the cause of your sync issue. Try to run it through mAC3dec's fix feature.

Or if that doesn't work, then you could time how out of sync it is, decode the AC3 to AIFF, and edit it using something like sound studio.

Might be a very quick and concrete method.
