If v-dub give you a such a headache why don't you try to use source frame range in TMPGenc to encode first part and second part. Tmpgenc can get the job done but you might have some sync issue. To prevent/avoid sync issue you might get uncompress wave file out of avi first. Load avi into v-dub, check Full mode processing in audio tab, then save wave.
Now you load avi file to video source and wav file to audio source. Use source range to set start and end for first half, then come back and set for second half. If you know how to use Batch encode you can do both parts just one click.
PS standard template in TMPGenc, you can fit around 40 mins in one CD so you might have to tweak setting a little bit if your movie longer than 40 mins in each part. My suggestion is test only a short clip around 2-3 mins and then you can do the math for whole part.
hope this help -
I've been using the latest version of DVD2SVCD this will take a Divx file and convert to PAL if necessary, calculate the bit-rate, use Tmpgenc or CCE to encode your file, split between CD's, convert to BIN/CUE ready for burning, all at the click of a button.

plz hlep me out maybe you got a site with a tutorial... I am a n00b you know -
this is what virtual dub tells me plz help!
Virtual Dub has detected an imprpoper VBR Audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with Standard VBR values during proccessing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 16379 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptible decompress the "entire" audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (Bitrate: 154.8 +/- 19.2 kbps)
any body knows what to do with which programs... (and what to do in the proggys)plz tell me... -
EVERYTHING you need to know is on this website somewhere. Nobody ever seems to be able to find it... http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm
This tells you how to make a sepaarte wav file for the sound, to avoid sync problems. how to use the avi for picture, wav for sound, then how to split the movie into two parts. Sorted! -
allready found it out
thx everybody
