I'm trying to download the video located here:

Using rtmpsrv and rtmpdump on Linux, I got

The thing is it will only go on until it reaches ~2% and then it stops downloading. Can anybody tell me what am I doing wrong?

Hi, I just started using RTMPdump...can someone explain to a novice, how to enter a command in to the black rtmp box?

I am trying to enter the --start and --stop command so that I can only download a portion of the show.

Lets say for instance I want to start downloading 20 minutes in and stop at 40 minutes in. What do I type in for the code? Can you post an example please?

And more importanlty, and this my be a dumb question, but do I type this code at the very beggining before I launch the video? Because once the video is launched it starts downloading the complete video.

Do I just type --start and --stop (with numbers) or is there something I have to type in prior to that, like a command or link of some sort?

Then I press the "download" button, but the flv file downloaded is corrupted "0 kb".

I'm not able to download anything with RTMPdump. Have RTMPDumb and Helper in the same folder. when I launch Helper the cm box comes up. In the box is says "streaming on RTMP://0.0"

But when I play any video in Firefox or Chrome, nothing downloads.

but how do i know the key ? i mean how do i get the key form the URI, i have a login username and password of this website, i just don't know

and how to use the key? ( maybe this is answered in the m3udump.py code, by using openssl )

how to run ffmpeg with cookies, there is a hidden option -cookies right ? although it didn't show in ffmpeg -h, but when you use it like this,

ffmpeg -cookies "Cookie: name=value; name1=value1" -i xxxx -o yyyy

it doesn't error out. if ffmpeg doesn't know i have logged in to that site, i won't be able to get the keys.

I've been trying to figure this whole RTMP business out. This is all new for me. So I have the RTMPdump and would like to download a video from viki (http://www.viki.com/videos/179487v-ti-amo-chocolate-episode-1). I was able to download most of the series last year before using RTMP dump but something has changed and it is not working anymore. As far as I can tell the RTMP stream I want would be this - rtmp://viki.fcod.llnwd.net/a7881/e2/mp4:179487v/179487v_high_480p_1308120307

So in the command prompt of windows I have tried this - "C:\Users\ally\rtmpdump\rtmpdump.exe" -r "rtmp://viki.fcod.llnwd.net/a7881/e2/mp4:1007892v/1007892v_high_480p_1308010244.flv" -o "c:\video.flv"

But everytime I get the error of Netstream.Failed. What am I doing wrong? I know I could use GetFLV but it's not free after a set time and I would like a more permanent solution to getting Viki videos after the trial of GetFLV runs out.. Any help is appreciated!!

if i try the HLS way, i can download all the .ts files, but they are encrypted and i don't know how to get key from the URI php page.

edit: ok i figured out the secure token, how to pass it to ffmpeg ? ffmpeg doesn't have -t option like rtmpdump does.
