Thx, but I still must be doing something wrong because all I get is the manifest file. I copied the addy (which I got from Chrome) and pasted it into the IDM (and is pratically similar to the addy in your screenshot). This is driving me nuts.

guluser, hds is adobe's http dynamic streaming format to deliver fragmented .mp4 files (fmp4). it has been discussed plenty elsewhere on this forum.

this means rtmp as a protocol is likely history for cbs. I checked some other shows too, and it is gone. the adobehds script is the go to method for f4m manifest files, but it only works if there is no drm. I don't know if there is drm in this case because I wasn't even able to download the manifest url, even with the appended auth strings. but I didn't attempt it for very long.

2. use link as input for vlc
