As pandy said: "If TV behave incorrectly this mean that it is not DVI compliant and this is HDMI standard violation too."
I tested on my brother's recent Sony Bravia 42" (like, he probably bought it like, a year and a half, maybe 2 years ago), and it works "pixel-perfectly".
