direct stream copy not with ffmpeg

I would like create a simple mpeg2 in avi file e.g. with virtualdub but not with ffmpeg and not with mencoder

With ffmpeg I have use: ffmpeg -i c0020.mxf -vcodec copy -an output.avi

If I try in virtualdub it says:



is there another way, another program or utility to do this, but not with ffmpeg/mencoder?

I just tried avidemux and it seems to work.

But why do you want mpeg2 in avi?

for mpeg2 inside avi you probably need to set some special vtag for VirtualDub do support it,...
-> if you got an avi with mpeg2 in it, check the fourcc and set the vtag accordingly

Not possible . Vdub cannot open mxf natively. The import plugins in order for vdub to open mxf decode/decompress the video , so it's no longer mpeg2 video (stream copy of original is not possible)

There might be a way with graphedit/graphstudio using a directshow mux , not sure
