Format Factory - Xvid exact size.... how to ?

I need to convert some .Mp4 file on .avi using xvid codec and mp3 for audio.
I have try to use Format Factory.. this is a source of one of mp4 file:

Whit the enternal Xvid bitrate calculator i have put the exact size... 230.000 Kbytes and obtain this value:
Size 202746 - Average Bitrate 1214

But Format Factory doesn't have a function to set the exact size of output file.. but i can only set the bitrate... i try to set this to 1214 but i obtain a output file up to 1.2GByte.... wtf ?

Which software i can use to convert this file ?? I'm not a pro encoder but i have use sometime VirtualDubMod but i can import on it the .mp4 file.... you can help me ?

Xvid (AVI) and MP4 are two completely different animals. You can't dictate both the file size AND the bitrate for a file conversion. It's one or the other and there is no way around that.

I think his complaint is that it's not reaching the bitrate target, it's oversizing .

It's from xvid -> Mp4 and Mp4 -> xvid same situation ?? It's correct to use format factory for my operation ??

I can't understand... on format factory i put a value on bitrate because this value is not respected? Ok i can't obtain the exact size... but if i set bitrate 1214 because the output .avi use a different bitrate ?

My problems it's no the exact size.... it's completely oversize

I need xvid4psp ?? It's another codec ?

it's a GUI, a program front end that has xvid option, uses xvidvfw.dll (same as you would use in vdubmod or vdub)

another option is megui, which uses xvidencraw.exe

format factory uses ffmpeg (compiled with libxvid), but ffmpeg's implementation seems to have problems meeting target bitrates in my experience

Those 3 different methods you can try might give you different results om reaching bitrate target. In my experience, xvidvfw.dll usually gives most precise results

mmmmmmmmmmm...ok.. i have downloaded this "XviD4PSP_DAILY_PORTABLE.7z" try to use..... otherwise other time i used Format Factory i choose this option:

Every time i obtain a oversize file..... the bitrate setted here it's completely ignored and i can't understand because.

I don't rate FormatFactory very high. It's a handy tool for extracting audio and such but I opt for xvid4psp and TEncoder for conversions.

Lol........ i don't know all programs on scene
Sometime i have converted to XVID using VirtualDubMod and obtain very good file.... now i have started a convertion on file posted MediaInfo here using xvid4psp but after 3 minutes it's been crashed without any error

Xvid4PSP continue to crash..... goes in crash after 2 or 3 minutes without any error....

The latest xvid4psp (daily builds) are usually ignored as they are a 'work in progress'.
Those in the know use XviD4PSP_5.10.330.0_(2013-03-21)_rc33.1 (full install).

mmmmm.. ok... when crash i can still wiew a process WPFFontCache_v0400.exe on my Task Manager...

I have try to install not the portable but i have installed now the setup version but continue to goes in crash.

Try to found this version and i can to use it........

Simple quesion...on my PC i have installed the K-Lite Mega Codec pack......... can be create some problems using this Xvid4psp ?

This 73.5MByte contain some package for OS ? Like codec or stupid toolbar to remove ?

ok... for now appears this 5.10etc.etc version working and not goes in crash

I can found a manual of this ?? I have started the conversion withot set the output resolution of file.... whitout set nothing need to stop this

Hey.. you can say to me how i can DELETE / RESET the queue list ?? i have started and stopped some encoding now i can reset and all other project it's been added with a progressive number... how i can reset to 0001 ?
I have deleted all "old" project but i still started to 0003....

Lol. I never found that out. I just leave it to do it's thing.
The only time I reset was onetime I had to reinstall the program.

This Xvid4PSP it's very good programs... it's fully configurable and it's very fast because in three hours i have completed 3 episode of this fantastic italia serie
