    I was thinking maybe YAMB. Found this and it got me thinking it might work. Me? I would be happy with the MKV

    If you try the MKVtoMP4 route you should probably reduce the level from 4.1 to 4.0 as Apple TV (AFIK) only support up to 4.0

    Your suggestion is helpful, but I prefer to use the command tool (mp4box) rather than the GUI. And it does work, but only one downside: it only supports mp4 files. I re-encode multiple file types like avi and mkv.

    I don't like hardsubs as it reduces video quality.
    Oh and storage is not a problem anymore, just went to Amazon and ordered 4 4TB hard drives to connect to my PC lol.

    Yes. I see. But if you have it in one container then you only (hopefully) have to demux and remux to a new container type. No quality loss...and it's very fast...no reconversion.

    Oh and I will have fun with the 16 TB of storage. Now where can I put it in my PC... :P
