  1. I have this avi file, that sometimes has color problems, it turns the picture from redish to normal and then back again many times during the movie. I also converted it to mpeg and then to VCD and it still does the same thing. What am i doing wrong? I researched the foroums and found that the Angel potion codec was bad. Which is a better codec? Divx?

  2. Well once the original file is messed up, any conversion will only make things worse. You can try applying some filters, but if the original compression was bad, then you will continue to lose quality with each subsequent compression.

As for the best codec, depends what you want to do. For capturing its best to start with a lossless compression (like Huffy) if you have the hard drive space, as for the best codec that actually compresses your file, my vote would be Divx.

  3. I just downloaded Nimo, it claims it installs all the Divix packs as well from version 3 and up. What do you think of that?
