hi all,
continuing my efforts to get virtualdub 1.9.11 going with x264vfw (x264vfw_37_2200bm_33968.exe)...
when i do a preview in virtualdub, i see MB in video data/projected file size, however, when the actual AVI file is saved it's only a few KB.
if i choose something other than x264vfw in compression, the file size is larger.
i've attached the x264vfw config in the attached.
what needs changing?
thanks,
dh.

If you are doing multipass/2-pass encoding you must "convert" twice, see https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/312870-Solved-How-to-do-2-pass-avi-encoding-with-VirtualDub-Mod (it should work similar for x264).

Or use one-pass or constant quantizer encoding mode instead.

cool, thanks. i've set it to "Single pass - bitrate-based (ABR)" now, and success!

 cheers,

 dh.
