  1. hi,

it seems there is not program to re-author a blu ray to a movie-only-blu-ray with all menus. i tried clown bd clopier, but it seems the tool has problems with java.

is it possible to replace the unnecessary title with a dummy file with the same resolution and so on?

The tools that exist to do this kind of thing for DVDs do not yet exist for BluRay as far as I know. We've had vague references to a tool over at Doom9 that lets experts make modifications to skip things in BluRay (ie. skip over an anti-piracy warning) but that's all I've ever heard about.

  3. can i make a full backup with an extremly high compression of all extras? bd rebuilder has only a "quicker"-option for extras.

Yes, there *was* such a program.

In BDRB, v0.39.7, you could add to the config file: ENABLE_TEST=1. This would unlock a hidden option to selectively blank items on the BD. You accessed in under "MODE". You can download that version and maybe get it to work by changing the date on your computer to January 1, 2012.

Why is that option not in the current version of BDRB?, I hear you asking. Because, as jdobbs said, it wasn't sufficiently reliable. You guessed it: BD-J sometimes tripped it up. The author of BDRB is still working on it, so perhaps that option will be restored in a future release.

As to Clown BD BD Copier, are you sure you used it correctly? BD Copier can be a little sticky. Try deselecting everything, then add back to the list only what you want to keep. If it's just menu and main movie, I'd be surprised if that didn't work.

At any rate, if you have an unskippable trailer, just go into BDRB settings and tick "Unblock Chapter Skip in Titles".

Also, you could delete the trailer in BDEdit, or at least change the default action from on to off. I confess I haven't used it for that, so I can't give you any direction as to how. It's not the easiest program to use. I'll have to give that a try though.

    Good luck.

I was wondering earlier when I read the first post's why no one mentioned that.

I am using v0.40.10 (beta) and the function is still there.

I added the ENABLE_TEST=1 quite a few versions ago and just updated as new versions came out and it was always still there.
I have v0.40.11 but I have not updated it yet.

Maybe just updating the older versions does not remove or overwrite the config file/ini

Just preview by right clicking on each vid to see what you want to keep and what you want to blank/remove then select.

Exactly how many people do you REALLY think have nothing better to do than read through multi-hundreds of posts on Doom9 to find out about secret options for BDRB? I have nothing against you Noahtuck, but this is not a rational expectation. Geez, it was pretty painful to find out about the secret option that exists to handle DTS Express and I found it through a Google search. Short of literally reading hundreds of posts exactly how do you expect people to know about "ENABLE_TEST=1"? Why would some newbie possibly know about that or even to go to Doom9 to try to read all that crap to find it?

  9. Noahtuck: That's funny, I'm sure he removed it at one point and said so in the bug report thread. Late Spring of this year, IIRC, and at least one version wouldn't do it when I tested. (That function is not something I would use regularly). I must have missed when it was put back in, or maybe it wasn't mentioned in the bug report thread?

Doom9 was down for awhile this morning, but it's back now, and after a quick search, I see that you're right. It appears Java is still a problem though: "Unfortunately "Movie and Menus" is still experimental -- at best it is a "good guess" right now. If there's JAVA in play it could be even more hit-or-miss." That was from 5 days ago.

Anyway, to clarify about Clown_BD BD Copier, if you try deselecting everything first, adding back the main title will only work if you expand the main movie playlist and re-enable the streams separately. You must use tsMuxer mode. I'm testing right now with a complex BD-J disc to see if menu and main movie will work. Then I'll test it with BDRB with modified config file.

Jman: Well, it's just interesting. For me, it's no more than that, I almost always do movie-only, except for episode discs. I see your point about only being able to learn about some functions by wading through a damn long thread.

  10. it works fine with bd rebuilder - i used the version 0.39.7.

i don't want to compress the main movie, so i changed the custom target size to 50000 megabytes. but i seems rebuilder compressed the main movie. the uncompressed movie had a size of 25.4 gb, the "new" movie 25.1 - without all audio streams. but it ends to fast for a new encoding.

can i use my own x264 command line in bd rebuilder? normally i demux all main movie and use avisynth und x264 to encode with the same command line. i allways use the same because my 2 htpcs can play them using dxva and vpdau and i'm not sure other setting would work.

  11. You could add this to the config file: FORCE_NOENCODE=1

The above will ensure that BDRB will use the original video (sizing will not be checked). It's in the HIDDENOPTS.txt.

Anyway, my test of a complex BD-J disc (main movie plus menus) failed with Clown BD BD Copier.

    LOL!!
    EZ there killer

At first I thought maybe I was missing something, then when fritzi posted I was like
Thought maybe I had some kind of a glitch or something.

The original way I found out about it, I actually took the time to do a search HERE on VHelp when I started using BDRB some 8/9 months or so ago, read through all the post's I found and found out about it.

Ya know, I used that super top secret ultimately hidden search function

I hardly ever go to doom9.

  13. Well, BDRB did my test disc (John Carter) successfully, using Movie & Menus (Auto-blank Extras). Disney disc with trailers and JAVA. The re-encode has the forced subs and the chapter popups as well.

  14. i tested bdrb 0.40 and 0.39.7. it seems there are differents when using enable_test=1. with 0.39.7 i can blank all extras, with 0.40 there are 2 title with i can't blank.

and the size of the video is still not the same when using FORCE_NOENCODE=1. i don't unstand why.
