  1. I am putting MiniDV information via Adobe premiere and Roxio Videopack on svcd's and am experiencing some problems:

    1. I use MPEG4 Codec V2 to transfer the video from premiere to videopack. However a fast moving object contains horizontal stripes when using this format. Is there a better format to use?

    2. When playing the SVCD on a philips DVD player I get stills (the movie stops and continues after a couple of seconds) on a regular basis (I am using PAL) is there any way to get rid of these stills?

    Thank you

Ok, your dropping an AVI into Video pack 5, it now needs to convert them.

You would be better off converting them with TMPGEnc to SVCD (Load a SVCD Template) then using those with Video Pack 5

  3. Thank you very much for your reply. Are there any particular settings I should use in TMPGenc (i.e. clip frame, noise reduction or anything else). Or should I simply use the default?

  4. I tried using TMPGenc however thsi does not get rid of the stills. The animation still stops for a few seconds every so many minutes, the original avi is continuous. Any idea what might cause this problem?

you should really look through the guides on the left(where it says CONVERT), and/or search the forum. sounds like you're converting to PAL from NTSC source, or the other way around
what are you askin' me for...

If the original is NTSC then use a NTSC template, if the original is PAl, you may be loosing frames ? 25fps V 29fps
