    Hello,

I'm a newbie with camcorders, got mine 1 year ago and never really used all functions. I just record and play later, nothing more.

This last vacation i took some different CD for recording.

    - The first CD used was a TDK DVD -R 1-2x 1.4GB double sided. Recording ok with SP mode and viewing on the TV 100% ok. Only could use one side...
    - The second CD i tried was a TDK DVD -RW 1-2X 1.4GB. Formatted correctly and was giving error at the beggining...

    - The third CD i used was a TDK DVD -RW 1-2X 1.4GB
This one i could again record everything OK.
I think here i messed everything. In this last one, i first started recording using SP and later on changed to XP mode, at the middle of the CD. Now i can't finalize it, neither can watch some part of the recording (only first 20 clips of total 60, either on TV or camcorder).

    Now, the questions:

    1) While using 60' double sided CD's, is it supposed to change the side of the CD when disk is full at 30' ? Why after doing this i get disk full anyway?

    2) How can i backup all my vacation movies to the computer? Simply putting the mini dvd on the computer and selecting vob files and copy paste to hard disk does not work. I always get read errors. Either on first CD or second one.. other cd's from other vacations is the same.....

    3) If i try to put the -RW dvd on the dvdplayer, i get always "BAD DISK" and "DISK ERROR", ejecting the dvd. How can i solve this?

    4) Also From old holidays, how can i transform the vob files into divx (.avi) ? Is there any good software for this, without loosing quality?

attached is an image of isobuster dvd structure....

Sorry this dumb questions, but i really need this solved.
    Thanks all

    1) Not sure about this, your owner's manual should be of better assistance. But I suspect the player likely doesn't know that a disc has two sides, it is giving the message or error based on the side of the disc you have inserted.

    2) As these disc's are not copied protected, any burning app should be able to copy the discs. You could also use a tool like DVDFab Decrypter and RIP the disc. (or simply created iso images using either of those options). The read errors would seem to indicate problems with the discs or the drive attempting to read them. Most likely the drive reading them, they often have issues with mini discs. You may be able to connect your camera to your computer and let it read and transfer the files to your PC, often with software provided with the camera.

    3) You DVD player is having trouble reading the disc. Either because it has issues with mini discs or because it doesn't support that media brand/type.

    4) Once you have all of the discs successfully copied onto your computer (as iso images or just files), you can convert them using an app such as AutoGK.
