  1. Hi, I have this capture card that records 480p through component cables. When I try outputting my PS3 via 720p the capture card receives the signal, but it's all distorted(I will provide images if someone replies). I think that it can support 720p because with most capture devices and/or TVs that support 480p , the screen is usually blank and isn't accepting the signal at all when outputting anything higher than 480p. When I go to the capture filter on my capture card it says "Lines detected: 525". Is there a way I can make it detect 720 lines? Like editing the AX files the come with the drivers?(or something along those lines.).

  2. Probably not. What card is it?

  3. It's a fairly new capture card, empia 2828x. It's kind of the same card as a Roxio game cap but newer.

EDIT: Even if you say there isn't a way, is there a way I can try? You know it doesn't hurt to try lol, I got time.

  4. Dunno. The only literature I could find was rather vague. See the 28xx chipset info:

But, in general, chipsets like this only support standard definition analog video capture. If it was capable of capturing analog HD it would have been advertized as such because that's a major feature.

Note that being able to capture digital HD broadcast is a different issue -- that video is already digitized and compressed by the broadcaster. All the card does is give access to that compressed digital data.

Okay thanks, but I'm still going to try lol(I've been known for breaking limits that aren't supposed to happen). Also, would you happen to know how to override an eeprom via an inf file? For some reason this capture card has auto balance and auto exposure.
