I have a number of divx compressed avi files, and when I convert them with TMPGEnc, everything goes smoothly, leaving me with a .mpg file roughly 3-4x the size of the avi. When I try to burn the .mpg file, every cd recording program says it is not a valid video cd 2.0 file. However, when I let the latest version of Nero encode the avi file to mpg, the video is burned to the CD and works fine (but doing this is not an option because Nero 5.5 crashes my system without fail around 25%. It seems that Nero deletes the file after encoding, because I can't find the file after I restart my comp. Any suggestions?

TMPGEnc comes with templates. Use the "Load" button and select the PAL VCD or NTSC VCD template. This will give you a 2.0 compliant VCD. I'm sure Nero will accept this file.
If the .mpg is more then 74 minutes, you must cut it (using e.g. the "Merge/Cut" function under "MPEG Tools" in TMPGEnc) into <74Min. parts.
Good luck.
